livebau just added the new Yeelight Professional series to our product portfolio, which is based on the latest BLE Mesh technology. The Yeelight Pro series ranges from lamps to door and window sensors to control panels. We take over planning, delivery, assembly and programming.

Yeelight Pro takes away the difficulties of creating your smart lighting plan and you can let our lighting designers do the work for you. Yeelight Pro System uses your home floor plan, your personal preferences and demands, and uploads a fully customized lighting plan with custom tailored scenes and pre-sets. Our team of professional lighting designers then create a fully customized lighting plan for your home. So you can see and approve the lighting plan before it's even made. You will then arrange the installation.

Our installation experts simply need to scan the lights and Yeelight Pro will tell them exactly where the lights need to be installed, allowing them to quickly and easily install the lights according to the lighting plan and test out the scenes and lighting effects for you. Compared to traditional installation, Yeelight Pro saves costs in wiring, it saves a lot of time with installation and even allows to copy and paste a full lighting plan from others. Yeelight Pro lights connect using a mesh technology to a single gateway which supports up to 150 devices. This allows for a uniform lighting control, it has a very low latency and can even be controlled if your Wi-Fi happens to be down. Our mesh networks supports various types of products from the Yeelight catalogue so it's not just the lights.

Yeelight Pro lights have a range from warm to cool light colors, and they allow for a deep dimming which allows a for a much more accurate dimming, all the way to 1%. We offer a wide variety of control options allowing you to set your lights from your phone or tablet, wall mounted control panels or smart switches, wireless sensors and a wide range of smart speakers for very flexible control. Yeelight Pro lights have a very low stand-by power usage, with only 0.089 Watts per device, which is about 5 times lower than many other lighting brands on the market. This does not only save you money on your electricity bill but is also a lot more environmental-friendly.

After the FCA draw in Düsseldorf and the associated relegation in the Bundesliga, the lighting of the WWK Arena installed by livebau was lit up in green for a week, which is usually only the case after the club's victories. However, the lighting changed in the night from June 22 to June 23, 2020 between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m .: The stadium was illuminated completely in red. The FCA thus participated in the nationwide "Night of Light" campaign, in which more when 7,300 event locations were illuminated in red to draw attention to the consequences of the corona crisis for cultural events. "The event industry will not survive the next 100 days!", was the call to the nationwide protest.

The AR App by 010digital allows to control and monitor electrical systems right at the object. All relevant product information and real-time data (e.g. real-time power consumption, last maintenance check) can be directly accessed.

To test our Augmented Reality (AR) solution for indoor farming, we set up a plant rack with tomato plants in Seeshaupt. These are supplied with light, air and water - the supply has been automated. However, if there are deviations from specified limit values, we will immediately receive a warning. This way, we can check the condition and, if necessary, adapt the ventilation, lighting and irrigation directly on site so as not to endanger plant growth.

Emerging technologies such as augmented reality (AR) have the potential to revolutionize conventional work processes in companies and make them many times more efficient - that is, they are safer, time-saving and cheaper. For this reason, we are experiencing a shift in AR technology from the entertainment sector to industry for process optimization. Using the example of the advantages of AR for maintenance and building management, it should be shown to what extent a well-thought-out AR overall strategy can reduce personnel costs, avoid production downtimes and save time - while increasing quality.

On the way to really smart light

The share of lighting in German electricity consumption is 13 percent (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Energiebilanzen, 2019). 15 percent of this is used for lighting private households and 85 percent for professional lighting, e.g. in industry, trade and commerce, authorities and traffic. In commercial buildings and office complexes, 13 percent of the total energy consumption is used for lighting (Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, 2018). Seen worldwide, 15 to 20 percent of the total electricity generation is used to drive electrical light sources (Georges Zissis, 2016). Energy-saving lighting is therefore a topic sought by researchers.

According to Jingyu Liu et al., Modern lighting systems (2016) two primary goals: save energy and guarantee lighting comfort. Martirano (2011) mentions two ways of achieving energy savings: efficiency and effectiveness. Efficiency means "new more performing equipment (lamps, control gear, etc.)" and "utilization of improved lighting design practices (localized task lighting systems)". Effectiveness, on the other hand, means "improvements in lighting control systems to avoid energy waste" and "adopting a technical building management system (maintenance and metering)".

Modern lighting systems should therefore use luminaires with optimized light control, high operating efficiencies and professionaly coordinated components - from the housing to the control system and lighting technology; on the other hand, they should include management systems that use sensors to incorporate daylight and the occupancy of rooms as well as different switching groups that can be controlled individually and independently of one another. The latter is particularly crucial for smart lighting systems:

• "The target of a smart lighting system is to control light sources in an environment (e.g. home, office) adaptively according to user contexts and preferences" (Sachin Bhardwaj et al., 2010).
• "The office where the smart LED lighting system is installed can regulate lighting output automatically based on users’ movements and allow users to choose their own lighting preferences" ( Jingyu Liu et al., 2016).

Lighting systems are therefore “smart” when they are automated and individually adjustable. This saves energy costs and increases human comfort. However, we go one step further and are of the opinion that lighting systems are only really "smart" if they can be automated individually: When an employee enters the conference room, intelligent light should not just be turned on, but should automatically switch to its preferred light setting. When you get home, intelligent light should automatically adjust itself to your individual needs at this point in time. The data of a fitness tracker transmitted in real time could be used, for example, to determine whether a more activating or calming light is better for physical well-being.

We are on the way to enable an actually smart, person-specific lighting system through the continuous optimization of our Lighting Cloud (currently the second largest in the world in terms of the number of connected devices). This requires the collection and evaluation of personal data on your own behavior and daily routine, which are meaningfully prepared and automatically called up. We are faced with the following challenges that generally arise with smart technology

• Covering the continuous energy consumption
• Ensuring a permanently stable internet connection
• Ensuring data protection
• Harmonization of the operating systems of luminaires
• Overcoming the different standards for the integration of different smart devices
• Integration of different systems for recognizing the user (face recognition, iris scan, device tracking, location-based services, etc.)

In addition, of course, the search for a solution must not accept any cuts in the quality of light - because what should be "smart" in any case is light that is optimized from a biological point of view.

Light + Building 2020 postponed: 010digital offers webinar to show AR solution

Seeshaupt/Munich, 27 February 2020 – The world's largest trade fair for lighting and building services technology has been postponed after leading lighting companies announced that they would not attend the event planned for March due to the coronavirus (Covid-19). The Light + Building 2020 will now take place on a yet-to-be specified date between the middle and end of September.

At Light + Building the industry presents every two years the latest products for the fields of lighting, electrical engineering as well as home and building automation. It focuses on solutions for reducing the energy consumption of buildings while raising the levels of comfort within them. The show covers everything from LED and photovoltaic technology to electric vehicles, ‘intelligent’ ways of using electricity with ‘smart metering’ and ‘smart grids’.

010digital introduces its patented Augmented Reality (AR) solution for integrated building automation that optimizes functionality, time and costs as well as energy efficiency. In hall 8.0 at booth B74, you will experience how the monitoring, control and maintenance of electrical systems becomes a lot easier thanks to the AR application.

„Augmented Reality allows users to interact with surrounding objects in a very simple and intuitive way: just point the camera at an object and choose from the control options displayed on the screen“, says Bertil Felsch, Chief Operating Officer at 010digital GmbH. AR offers an innovative approach to the development of IoT systems. While voice assistants like Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant depend on knowing the right command logic, the AR app works without any prior knowledge of the devices.

This has a lot of benefits for companies that are, for instance, struggling with skill shortages. The AR app guides inspectors throughout the entire maintenance routine, allowing new or less experienced technicians to start right away, without prior instructor-led training. Paper surveys are replaced with digital checklists in order to collect and store records automatically. Managers can access the analytics dashboard at any time, making it easy to track important KPIs, maintenance time and equipment history to prevent and avoid unscheduled downtime.

By integrating smart metering systems, individual parameter values can be set to get alerts in case of anomalies. The technicians will be informed about any irregularities immediately and led to the machines and devices in question by an integrated real-time tracking and navigation system. If necessary, they can even make manual adjustments on-site using the app. This is why the app comes as a great relief for the facility management of large buildings and big office spaces, including indoor farms, saving time and staff costs, especially in terms of monitoring, inspection and maintenance.

Visitors to the headquarters of OSRAM Licht AG in Munich can experience a multi-media journey through the history of the company: from the beginnings in 1906 to the present day. The ‘Osram World of Light’, a blend of showroom, workshop and event location has won this year’s German Design Award as well as this year’s ‘Sinus – Systems Integration Award’.

The flexible and elaborate showroom reveals the spectrum of expertise and products offered by Osram Licht AG and presents the company as a high-tech supplier with a tradition dating back over 100 years. Covering two levels, this world of infotainment includes a cinema, audio and video content, multifarious lighting units and mist effects. Light can be experienced on an emotional plane in a Light Box – a lighting timeline documents the technological milestones. On the ground floor, a moving glass dividing-wall system permits different room variations: open for press conferences and big events; closed as a versatile workshop area. Ranger Design was the general contractor and livebau carried out the detailed planning, light installation and system integration. The LED specialist successfully completed the fitting, wiring and programming of the different showrooms and event areas – Lichtkino (light cinema), Schatzkammer mit Vitrinen (treasure chamber with cabinets) as well as building part B (general areas & business units.

The Sinus Award jury was particularly impressed by the multi-functional approach, which permits a wide variety of uses, as well as by the uncompromising execution from the model to finished project, which meets the client’s requirements flawlessly. In this way, the many special challenges have been mastered perfectly, e.g., the integration of the World of Light in existing parts of the Osram headquarters and the planning and installation of a complex media-control system in several different parts of the building.

The German Design Award jury complimented the project with the following words: “The showroom presents OSRAM as a modern high-tech corporation. Divided in separate areas, this exhibition leads visitors into the world of electrical lighting, accompanies them on their journey through the company’s history and even allows them a glimpse into the future. It’s an impressive, multi-functional exhibition design that both fascinates and informs.”

The Sparkassenturm is a 75 m high skyscraper in Pforzheim, which was completed in June 2001 after two and a half years of construction. The facade design of the tower is based on the facade of Poststrasse and Leopoldplatz, which makes the Sparkasse visible to the outside as a unit. The building houses offices and conference rooms of the Sparkasse Pforzheim Calw.

In June 2019, the aging technology of the light installation, which was inaugurated in 2001, finally became noticeable - there were more and more failures, so the tower remained dark at night. Another reason for this was the water damage, in which high-pressure water ran from the 13th floor down to the fourth floor of the Pforzheim Sparkasse tower in February.

In addition, the old, monochrome lighting of the Sparkassenturm had gradually got "holes" and was no longer really in sync. Accordingly, the Sparkasse Pforzheim Calw decided to renew the lighting technology at the Sparkassenturm, which was finally implemented as part of the new Sparkasse building in Poststrasse.

livebau won the tender and was commissioned to light the tower. The lighting specialist installed 1,646 LED lights with a total length of 2,418 meters. 96,720 individually controllable LED pixels with 4 control channels (RGBW) and a total of 386,880 control channels DMX were installed, for which 6,450 m of data line were laid.

The tower's new lighting has been in operation since 12.12.2019. In the future, the facade will shine in multi-colored LED lighting with a higher resolution.

World-leading brand for healthy lighting has finally reached Germany

After opening their first subsidiary in Europe, the world-leading smart lighting brand Yeelight quickly gained a foothold in the market: within a short time, important partnerships were formed and the first products were launched on the European market – just in time for Christmas.

Seeshaupt/Munich, December 12, 2019 – Right on time to light up the festive winter season, Yeelight launches their Wifi-enabled, multifunctional and eye-friendly lamps and luminaires on the German-speaking market. Last Friday, the first official Yeelight Store for all CE-certified products went online. As a first step, the newly established subsidiary Yeelight Germany will provide smart home fans in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with smart bulbs, desk lamps, ceiling lights and ambiance lighting.

In addition, Florian Felsch was recruited as Managing Director of Yeelight Germany GmbH, being an experienced investor and expert in the lighting industry. “Unlike many other Chinese companies, Yeelink is willing to hand over some of the responsibility and leave important decisions to the local team in charge as they are familiar with the target market”, says Florian Felsch who has a lot of experience with cooperation in the Asian region.

Michael Dopmeier, who can look back upon a long career of being a successful channel manager in the consumer electronics industry, was made Head of Sales at Yeelight Germany. “What’s really special about the yeelight products is the combination of smart interaction, distinctive design and health-promoting technologies”, states Michael Dopmeier. “The lights are not only compatible with popular smart home platforms like Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple HomeKit, they are particularly gentle to the eye. Yeelight lamps and luminaires show a very high colour rendering index – similar to the sun – and a very low amount of harmful blue light.”

How augmented reality inspires industrial automation

At smart production solutions 2019 in Nuremberg, 010digital shows how the use of augmented reality (AR) applications will revolutionize the digitized industrial world.

At SPS 2019, the entire spectrum of smart and digital automation will be presented - from simple sensors to complete systems. The focus is on practical solutions around the topic of automation. 010digital offers a particularly innovative solution, the expert for "AR System Integration and Control" will be presenting its patented AR application for maintenance and control of electrical systems at booth 450 (Hall 5).

Using the AR app, users can monitor and control any device in the room, whether lighting, media or building technology. It is sufficient to point the tablet or smartphone camera at the desired object and the possible operating options appear on the screen. "In contrast to voice control, which requires knowledge of the right commands, augmented reality offers the possibility of integrating with the environment in a very intuitive way," explains Bertil Felsch, managing director of 010digital GmbH. "The AR app works without any prior knowledge of the devices - just aim and operate it with the camera".

Since any number of systems and machines can be integrated into the system, only a single control application is required to operate all devices, even in spacious industrial plants. But the app not only enables control, but also monitoring of electrical systems. All product information and real-time data can be called up, for example the real-time power consumption or the last maintenance time.

In addition, warning messages can be received as soon as there are deviations from specified limit values ​​(if, for example, the average energy consumption is significantly below).

This makes the app the ideal tool for making manual adjustments in fully automated systems when necessary. For example, ventilation, lighting and irrigation in indoor farms can be adjusted if irregularities occur that could endanger plant growth. In this case, responsible employees automatically receive a warning message to prevent production downtimes.

The app also saves considerable time and money for facility management in large office and building complexes, especially in terms of inspection and maintenance: paper questionnaires are replaced by digital checklists to automatically create and save test reports. Authorized personnel can access the statistics at any time in order to track maintenance times, important KPIs and equipment history and thus avoid unexpected failures. The AR app accompanies inspectors through the entire routine so that even new and less experienced technicians can start immediately without prior expert training.

In order to update the office lighting at OSRAM Munich HQ for more energy efficiency, lighting comfort and flexibility, the project managers decided to use the intelligent lighting management system HubSense by OSRAM.  HubSense is designed to enable easy and time-efficient retrofitting of existing lighting installations into flexible wireless control systems based on the globally interoperable Bluetooth mesh standard. There’s no gateway or wiring needed. The solution allows for remote planning and pre-commissioning. Thanks to wireless identification of luminaires via mobile app, the lights can be easily assigned to lighting zones on site.  So the efforts required for revamping the lighting at the OSRAM office building were limited to upgrading the existing T5 luminaires – while the employees were able to continue working without being disrupted.

The installation was carried out by livebau solutions GmbH. The retrofit covered 492 m2 of office space, including 26 workplaces, meeting rooms, think tanks, and the kitchen area. A total of 100 existing T5 luminaires were upgraded to connected LEDs with the HubSense technology, a process carried out by livebau. The commissioning process was performed by the OSRAM staff. During the remote planning stage, the entire office space was divided into 21 lighting zones. Using predefined and adjustable lighting control scenarios available in the HubSense web app, each zone was easily configured to meet the specific lighting requirements of its occupants. This was followed by the on-site implementation stage. The HubSense mobile app was used to locate specific luminaires and assign them to relevant lighting zones. With no need for any lighting control wiring, the entire retrofit was completed in less than 2 days. This involved the installation of new luminaires and switches, as well as the commissioning of the entire system.

“From the installer’s perspective, wireless technologies make everything much easier. Installation is quicker since I don't have to cut and install any new cables. It’s also much cleaner - there is no dirt or dust at the customer's site”, said Florian Felsch, CEO of livebau.

A manual lighting system is nowadays obsolete in any office building. Modern lighting management systems allow a quick and effortless modification of settings and lighting arrangements to meet the different requirements, making everyday work as comfortable and low-fatigue as possible. The lighting management system HubSense is designed to enable easy and time-efficient retrofitting of existing lighting installations into flexible wireless control systems without bearing the costs of recommissioning. With the drastically simplified commissioning process and multiple predefined lighting scenarios, it is an intuitive solution for implementing advanced control strategies without lighting control engineering expertise.

livebau was hired by Siteco to update the illuminated façade of Siteco's Technology and Design Center (TDC) in Traunreut that was opened in 2018. They just finished their work - numerous lights were installed and the lighting control was programmed.

SITECO looks back on more than 150 years of history as part of the German lighting industry, and is today one of the leading providers of road, tunnel and stadium lighting as well as for the industry, office and retail sectors. SITECO stands for innovative lighting technology and combined light expertise—from large-scale projects to customer project solutions.

After opening, Siteco's TDC gradually took over the functions of the aging Light Information Center (LIZ). The goal was to experience lighting in its specific applications - with regards to innovation, service and solutions. This is why visitors of the TDC can expect to find innovative technologies, lighting tools and lighting concepts from all Siteco application areas.

LICHT is a leading German magazine for the lighting industry and reports in 9 issues per year competently and extensively on the topics of planning, design, technology, daylight, science and research as well as standardization. LICHT also informs about trends and innovations at national and European trade fairs.

eventa's management is being reorganized: a clear structure for a strong image

The eventa Group and its three subsidiaries livebau, 010digital and LB One Services are being restructured: All companies will now present themselves with a clearly structured management and a well-defined service portfolio.

Munich/Seeshaupt, 17 October 2019 – Since February there has been a gradual change in personnel at the top of the holding company and its subsidiaries (livebau solutions, 010digital, LB One Services), as the strategy for restructuring the corporate family adopted in the previous year has now been successively implemented.

In February, Markus Wenner retired from the supervisory board of eventa AG for professional reasons. With Mrs. Helga Brandstetter a strong and reliable succession could be found promptly. In April, a new management was appointed for the three subsidiaries: Bertil Felsch took over the management of 010digital GmbH, Michael Boy was appointed managing director of livebau solutions GmbH and Jakob Forster was promoted to operations manager of LB One Services GmbH, where he and Nicola Küppers will be leading the company's day to day operations of the business.

The German football club of Augsburg (FCA) showed their support for this initiative by lighting up their stadium (WWK Arena) in lots of different colours – which was carried out by livebau.

The elaborated exterior lighting facade which was implemented by livebau in 2017, normally shines in the club colours red, green and white as well as entirely green for one night after each match won by the FCA. But last Tuesday, the people driving by the WWK Arena, experienced a blaze of colour. „The FC Augsburg stands for diversity. Not only when it comes to the professional team but also to the team of young talents, women and girls where players from different nations, different ethnic and religious backgrounds. Our team of employees shows the same diversity. This is why it is important to us to emphasize the normalcy of diversity by displaying this special lighting”, says Michael Ströll, Managing Director of the FCA, about participating in this action started by the employer initiative to promote diversity in companies and institutions (Charta der Vielfalt).

livebau managed to give a new shine to the Feinkochwerk EATERY in Seefeld-Hechendorf - daytime restaurant and evening location at the same time. livebau first developed a very suitable lighting and control concept, then carried out the installation of the lights and the control elements.

For the whole concept, four lighting elements were installed at the building complex. The concept includes a basic LED lighting with power track spotlights and LED continuous row luminaires with a color range from warm to cold white, brightening the roof truss. To support the basic lighting with further lighting accents, additional luminous objects were installed, with pendant LED luminaires in the ceiling area and downlights in the bar area. This interplay of basic and supportive lighting makes it possible to adapt the lighting to any event - an individual lighting atmosphere can be created. Both the overall lighting and individual lighting elements can be controlled and dimmed via an app.

livebau knew how to let this artwork of Swarovski Crystal Worlds shine that resembles a jellyfish floating on the surface of the ocean: The body is lit up by 48 dynamically controlled (DMX) RGBW LED Dots and connected to a glass fibre plait of 10 meters with 180 single fibres that represent the tentacles of the jellyfish and can be illuminated in different colours.

In addition, livebau was in charge of creating the „Black Pond Line“, a shining line consisting of two 2 LED-rows of 15m each with RGB-colours that was installed along a footbridge across the pond close to the jellyfish.

Inspired by the term Common Ground – a concept proposed by Herbert H. Clark and Susan E. Brennan that comprises the collection of “mutual knowledge, mutual beliefs, and mutual assumptions” in the communication between two people –, this artwork represents the communicative interaction between different cultures, languages, arts and sciences. It describes the diverse and lively encounters at an educational institution open to everyone like the “Münchner Volkshochschule (MVHS)” in Munich.

The sculpture was mounted at a distance of 15 cm from the wall and is illuminated from behind by 14 RGBW-LED spotlights, installed by livebau and controlled via DMX. The lighting scene changes in a subtle way as a coloured lighting slowly fades into a purely white lighting. The spotlights are aligned in a specific way to follow the form of the artwork emphasizing its colour concept. The colourful, three-dimensional wall sculpture has a stimulating effect and invites you to go almost up until the end of wall to experience the artwork physically.  

The Common Wall is made of steel and aluminium and accompanies the movement of the MVHS visitors: Whenever you enter or leave the institution, the sculpture dynamically leads you. The restaurant planned to be built soon outside of the back entrance will find itself in a stunning setting that covers the less spectacular wall of the gymnastic and sport halls.

The concept of the Common Wall was inspired by the style of urban art like graffiti and similar graphic notation forms as well as narrative and fanciful music images of complex present music compositions. Another symbolic level represents the different courses of the MVHS: The percentage of the courses taken last year were transformed into colour patches in the corresponded size and put together as various pieces of a big cake.

Extreme sports pioneer Jochen Schweizer has created a spectacular venue for fun and business in the south of Munich, called the Jochen Schweizer Arena. The activities offered in the Arena turn the leisure park into the perfect place for everyone who wants to actively experience their free time. In September 2018, mavacon, brand of livebaus sister company preussen automation, took over the monitoring of all electrical systems in the Jochen Schweizer Arena in order to determine potentials for energy savings.

Besides the event and conference venue for corporate clients, the venue’s restaurant Schweizer's Kitchen and the outdoor area with a high ropes course and zip lines (Flying Fox XL Parcours), the highlights are the 30-metre high Bodyflying tunnel for indoor skydiving and the Citywave for indoor surfing.

The wave, which can rise to heights of 1.40 metres in a water depth of 120 cm at a water temperature of 24 - 26 °C, provides beginners, advanced learners and pros with the chance to practice. Thanks to its vortex-free air stream with up to 285 km/h, the cutting-edge vertical wind tunnel offers all visitors an authentic skydiving experience – similar to a minute of flying in a parachute jump from 4,000 metres.

Having all these energy-intensive activities in mind, sustainability is an important topic for Jochen Schweizer. For all attractions taking place on the fun complex, only state-of-the-art technologies are employed in order to use the energy needed as efficiently as possible.

Now the company of Jochen Schweizer wants to make the Arena even more energy efficient by using mavacon. The installation of mavacon metering sensors and the respective evaluation software mavacon e.cloud allows the collection of data that reflects the entire energy consumption. Due to the granular data analysis, potentials for energy savings can be detected to further optimize the system operation.

The companies will be demonstrating this innovative tool in the Visionaries 777 Booth #304 at AWE EU 2018.

Since September 2017, the Bundesliga football stadion has been illuminated in the club colours of the FCA. The exterior lighting of the WWK Arena was successfully implemented by livebau and has been monitored and managed by the light specialist since. The literal highlight of the stadion is the modern facade made of 135 intertwined LED light sticks of the company Zumtobel which now count 170 in total as livebau was asked to add 35 LED sticks. In addition, 38 facade floodlights light up the facade on a larger scale.

The LED light sticks, deliberately arranged in a certain way, open up the simple design of the exterior form of the arena and become a real eye-catcher. After winning a match, the entire façade – normally illuminated in the club colours red, green and white – is lit up in a vibrant green for the rest of the day.

The LED lighting is regulated through the system management cloud solution mavacon e.cloud and the functioning of all devices and lights is continuously monitored via metering. If a malfunction should occur and the lighting doesn’t work, it will be immediately detected and reported by the system. In addition, live images taken by a camera in front of the stadium are sent to the e.cloud to support the detection of system failures.

»With the mavacon e.cloud we have the possibility to check from the office whether the lighting of the WWK-Arena is working or not. By measuring the electricity consumption, we can watch the function of the luminaires and provide remote support in case of a malfunction.«

Stated Michael Boy, Lead Programmer of the company. Thanks to the user management and the decentralised cloud solution, external experts can be perfectly integrated into the project. Via secure VPN connections, a remote access to all data and applications is possible, irrespective of the location.

UBS, the Swiss global investment bank, is organizing the Smart Home/Office & Manufacturing 4.0 Expo in September 2018. This event aims to introduce leaders in Smart Technology to UBS Clients. The Joint Venture of Visionaries 777 and eventa AG, AR Automation Ltd., is presenting the AR Light app.

It will be a four-day expo (September 17th,19th – 21st ) themed as Smart Home/Office, elderly tech, manufacturing, hosted at UBS AG in Tsim Sha Tsui with 10,000 square feet of available space. Selected companies (more than 30 SmartTech innovators) will showcase their products to more than 1,000 UBS clients including business owners and investors. The Expo will also include a Speed Dating Event in which companies will be arranged to meet 1-on-1 with over 20 potential investors and business partners.

Yeelight, the biggest competitor of Philips Hue when it comes to smart lighting control systems, is discussing the possibility of a cooperation with livebau in the field of Smart LED Light. The Chinese company is determined to overtake Philips Hue with its smart home lighting solution. Now Yeelight shows interest in the Augmented Reality Light App that livebau developed in cooperation with the AR specialist Visionaries 777. In combination with Yeelight’s smart LED bulbs, the AR Light app could become suitable for home use.

So far, the app  is mainly used in large buildings where the user benefits the most. The Facility Management of such large buildings normally has to guarantee the functioning of a lot of technical devices and luminaires. Given that one of the lights doesn‘t work anymore and the problem needs to be solved as soon as possible; pointing the smart phone/tablet camera at the broken light, the different functions of the luminaire can be checked to find out what needs to be fixed. At the same time, all the important product details about the light in question are displayed on the screen so it’s easy to order the replacement parts needed – without going through product catalogues or searching folders on the computer.

The smartphone/tablet camera recognizes the different lights based on a previous 3D scanning of the room. On the screen, the different options are displayed – turn on/off, dimming, colours – depending on what functions the light/device is programmed for.

The special feature of the AR Light App: Most of the time, when installing remote controls, the lights need to be equipped with a special control device that is responsible for the communication between light and control. The AR Light App doesn’t require an extra control device as the control commands are carried out through the central control unit, already programmed, accessing it via a wireless LAN. This way, the App can be used with any luminaire.

The money will go to the project Inside@School that helps students, parents and teachers deal with difficult issues like bullying, violence, social media, conflict management, peer pressure, low self-esteem, consumerism and addictive behaviour.

When a student can contact a trusted individual and notices that their fears and worries are taken seriously, most of the time they will open up making it possible to figure out a solution. The eventa group's subsidiaries with livebau being one of them, have been very committed to collecting plastic bottle tops – 500 bottle caps for a life without Polio. Poliomyelitis, more commonly referred to as polio, is an illness that has been completely eradicated in most places but it remains endemic in three countries: Afghanistan, Nigeria and Pakistan. The association »Deckel drauf e.V.« (Put a lid on it), founded and organised by the Rotary Club, has certainly helped to stamp out this disease. It has set up a system across the whole of Germany that enables plastic bottle tops to be collected at supermarkets, kindergartens and schools. The lids are then sold to a plastics recycling facility and all proceeds are donated to the initiative »End Polio Now« with the goal to eradicate polio worldwide.

In the beginning we had planned on contributing to the project »Deckel gegen Polio« (bottle caps against Polio) for a limited period of time. However, we very quickly had collected more than 2000 bottle tops, thanks to our very committed employees. Because of this, we decided to continue with this good cause.

livebau was pleased to see that there was a big interest at L&B in our product »AR Light« – an app that allows users to control any luminaire in the room by pointing their smart phone or tablet camera at it. In addition, important information like real time power consumption as well as the last maintenance check are displayed on the screen. This is possible thanks to the smart system management cloud solution »mavacon e.cloud« and 3D space mapping. As part of introducing Augmented Control, the two companies also presented the »interactive building «– 3D-visualization of a building that is thought to be an user-friendly alternative to traditional interfaces in future. With your finger, you navigate through the different rooms of the building and just click on the luminaire that you want to operate. This way, you only need to know where to find a certain device and you can already easily manage it and directly access important information.

The mavacon e.cloud platform offers an interface between the provider, the user and the actual electrical system itself, where all data like backups, analyses and reports can not only be managed in a clearly structured and transparent manner but also administered centrally at the object/device. Due to the digital twin technology and activated objects, the connected system can be directly controlled by using AR and a suitable hardware. Thus, updates and manual adjustments on the operated system can be easily carried out with the mavacon e.cloud. Altogether, the new cloud solution offers an easy management of complex electrical systems. Several systems can be regulated via one portal and managed in a clearly structured and transparent manner, regardless of location. A comprehensive management involving all components of the Internet of Things and the traditional bus technology is thus possible.

The system is already used for the illumination of the exterior facade of the WWK Arena, the German football stadium in Augsburg. Since September 2017, the stadium has been illuminated in the FCA club colors red, green and white. After winning a match, the entire facade is lit up in green for two days before switching back to its original colours. The LED lighting is regulated through the mavacon e.cloud and the device function is continuously monitored via metering. If a malfunction should occur and the lighting doesn’t work, it will be immediately detected and reported by the system. Since September 2017, the stadium has been illuminated in the FC Augsburg club colours red, green and white. Now the WWK Arena, designated as »one piece of artwork« by Monika Nußbaumer, a member of the Board of Trustees, was awarded with the Prize for Architecture and Preservation of Monuments.

The literal highlight of the awarded building, designed by the architects Bernhard & Kögl from Augsburg, is the modern exterior made of intertwined tubes and LED light sticks. The illumination of the facade was successfully implemented by livebau and has been monitored and managed by the light specialist since.

All projects awarded by the Langner'sche Foundation were chosen because the architects went above and beyond to create a very special result. Along with the WWK Arena, two other buildings were awarded and received the prize money of € 5000.

livebau successfully carried out the technical realization of the exterior lighting of Osram Opto Semiconductors new main building in Regensburg, Germany. The HCL solution which is based on the most recent LED technology illuminates several floors with the help of 1634 luminaires.

The innovative lighting concept of the exterior facade is guided by the motto »The facade as a medium« because the illumination serves among other things to improve the employees' working conditions. The office lighting follows the Human Centric Lighting (HCL) concept according to which the light adjusts to the human biorhythm. Some years ago, scientists discovered a new class of light-sensitive cells in the retina which appear to reset the body's biological clock each morning and night. There is an ideal colour temperature value for humans at any time of the day. This is why HCL technology aims to provide the most beneficial lighting in accordance with the needs of human biorhythms.

Due to the new lighting system, artificial light can make up for natural light if the ideal value is not reached. Thus the risk of sleep and eating disorders, lack of energy or even depressions is reduced which enables a higher level of concentration and a better overall performance of the employees. Pre-programmed light curves and current values recorded by sensors adjust the lighting accordingly. When no one is present in certain rooms and office areas, the sensors automatically switch to energy-saving mode and dim the lighting. Other highlights include the linear lighting on the building contours and the indirect lighting of the windows illuminating the building in the corporate colour of orange at the onset of dusk.

livebau monitors and manages the exterior lighting of the WWK-Arena through the new system management cloud solution by mavacon named e.cloud. With the mavacon e.cloud, complex electrotechnical systems can be managed in a clearly structured and transparent manner, regardless of the location. From 18th to 23rd of March livebau demonstrated at the Light + Building 2018 trade fair how the e.cloud allows to manage different systems via one portal. A comprehensive management involving all components of the Internet of Things and the traditional bus technology is thus possible. The system is already used for the illumination of the external facade of the WWK Arena, the German football stadium in Augsburg. Since September 2017, the stadium is illuminated in the FC Augsburg club colors red, green and white. After winning a match, the entire facade is lit up in green for the rest of the day. The LED lighting is regulated through the mavacon e.cloud and the device function is continuously monitored via metering. If a malfunction should occur and the lighting doesn’t work, it will be immediately detected and reported by the system. In addition, live images taken by a camera in front of the stadium are sent to the e.cloud to support the detection of system failures.

»With the mavacon e.cloud we have the possibility to check from the office whether the lighting of the WWK-Arena is working or not. By measuring the electricity consumption, we can watch the function of the luminaires and provide remote support in case of a malfunction«, stated Michael Boy, Lead Programmer of the company. Thanks to the user management and the decentralised cloud solution, external experts can be perfectly integrated into the project. Via secure VPN connections, a remote access to all data and applications is possible, irrespective of the location. The mavacon e.cloud platform offers an interface between the provider, the user and the actual electrical system itself, where all data like backups, analyses and reports can not only be managed in a clearly structured and transparent manner but also administered centrally at the object/device. Due to the digital twin technology and activated objects, the connected system can be directly controlled by using AR and a suitable hardware. Thus, updates and manual adjustments on the operated system can be easily carried out with mavacon e.cloud.

Hong Kong/Munich, March 01, 2018 – Startup Visionaries 777 and electrical Systems investing expert eventa AG have officially launched a Euroasian Joint Venture, AR Automation Ltd, with their first product AR light. The revolutionary software combines the latest automation hardware & AR software with the aim of creating as a first step; an Augmented Reality lighting control system.

The Joint venture will focus on further developing the first software launched during the light and building fair in Frankfurt – March 2018. With the aim of re-inventing complex lighting automation systems, the software leverages computer vision, IOT and AR to create a real time virtual matrix compatible with the latest IOS devices. “This is the future, times of complex systems that added costs on installation and hardware combined with a poor user experience will be a thing of the past” stated Florian Felsch, Founder of eventa AG Munich during a private showcase of the technology in Visionaries 777 HQ.

The total solution package has been developed by engineers and software developers from both companies, sharing years of expertise, the pivotal moment has arrived as existing hardware from global manufacturers is becoming more dependable and stronger. “We chose Apple to create the first package as it’s a very robust system that can be acquired in every country. We were thinking of how to leverage that little computer we all carry in our pockets to accelerate usability and global deployment” stated Nicolas Guyon, founding parter of Visionaries 777.

The modularity of the software allows connectivity directly to luminaires or through automation systems already installed. Once installed, users can point and control an individual fixture. The system also visualizes real time consumption data and other information that could be relevant for maintenance purposes, it will also be connected with the System Management Cloud solution mavacon e.cloud introduced by the eventa AG invested company livebau GmbH in 2017.
